I would explode if we signed Joe Cole, again, no chance, but he'd be a great signing.

I think we'd be in a fight with Arsenal for SWP wouldn't we? Not sure that's a battle we could win.

Let's build trebuchets, then we'd have a chance.

Lucky Pimms and cigarettes may have been out tonight...

You can't beat trebuchet action. I'd actually really like to build one-who's in?

Naturally.

*puts on Engineer's hat*

First up we need to decide what to throw. The mass, and mass distibution of our projectile will determine the size of trebuchet required, material properties, and bearing strength of the ground beneath. If we get some numbers down, i'll put some drawings together and a Bill of Quantities.

*takes off Engineer's hat*

Then we'll need a carpenter. I think Jesus might be unavailable. Anyone got wood?

Always. I reckon we should start off fairly realistic. Not a car for our first outing. A footy. We should be able to wang a footy a fair distance...

Trig must be involved too.

Ooooooo, and I could design an experiment to enable us to do a crossbar challenge.

Now I have got wood.

Footy's no good. the momentum of the object in flight needs to be sufficient to overcome wind resistance. A trebuchet wouldn't fling a football any further than David James could kick it IMO.

Now if you meant a concrete football on the other hand......

Medicine ball. Or concrete. Medicine ball has a more reusable quality I feel.
