Can´t understand what the rush is. We have fairly young team with alot of potential. I rather see us build something and then stay up there for a long time instead of trying to rush things. exactly. That is the only way. Even if you invest hundred of millions it would be very hard to get close to the top four and Everton. Look at Tottenham they have a great players and invested a lot of money but still they are only average in the Premier League. And people thought they would challenge the top four this season. It is important for City to keep most of the good players and to establish themselves as a top 10 team with the chance to reach the Uefa Cup or win one of the two cups in the next 5 years. Let's hope that Thaksin has the necessary patience

| Bill Bastard (13/04/2008) I trust none of the press. I read the columnists, some of which are pretty good - Henry Winter, Mick Dennis, Martin Samuel - but the rest of the back pages are usually fairly lacking in any real substance I find.Winter is the best footbal journo out there this is crap - we're on schedule - whats the point of sacking Sven

| Manchester City have responded to speculation suggesting Sven Goran Eriksson's job was under threat. Some reports over the weekend claimed that City had lost confidence in Eriksson following the team's poor recent results. It was also reported that Thaksin Shinawatra was lining up Portugal boss Luiz Felipe Scolari as a possible replacement. However, City have stressed that they are happy with the season as a whole and looking forward to building on their success. "The chairman made it clear recently that he was happy with the progress made and that a top-ten finish was his target this season," head of communications Paul Tyrrell said in the Manchester Evening News. "Our win at Sunderland equals the club's biggest points tally in Premier League history and with four games to go everybody remains focussed on continuing the dramatic progress we have under Thaksin Shinawatra and Sven Goran Eriksson." Eriksson is likely to meet with Shinawatra next weekend to discuss his plans for the summer. "We are having ongoing discussions about transfer targets," he said. "The people around Dr Thaksin know more or less what we want to do. "I am glad we have equalled that points record and now we want to beat it. There are four games to go and we can still qualify for Europe. "We've had a lack of confidence recently and the only way to get that back was to fight, to defend well and win a game. "We have done all that now. The spirit was back to where it should be."

you should trust the papers because if they say the truth City can only win. On the one hand who have next season Sven, Diego .... or you have Scolari and Ronaldinho...... You seem to be suggesting that Sven and Diego is the worst of those options? No, no it's not. Replacing Sven would be a disaster., for anyone. We don't the disruption after a good season. Agree, but I think Diego is not a bad option at all. Yes Diego would be great In addition he is younger than Ronaldinho Drinks less, and probably does not party till 6am on Matchday, like Goofey !! | Frank may have managed to survive a military coup in Thailand but if attempts to boot Sven out the door I'll bring my snipers rifle to COMS and sort him out.
