I was delighted to see the protests in London and Paris.  It won't make any difference but people need to make a point about Tibet and the human rights abuses in China.

I thought it was funny when the Chinese said politics and sport shouldn't be mixed.  If that is the case then why are they hijacking the games for political means?

You could argue that every host country does that.

Whilst I agree that it's a good opportunity to raise the Tibet/China issue I also think if you really want to influence Chinese policy then boycott the products manufactured there. Not that you'd have much left in the shops to choose from if you did but it might do our economy a bit of good in the process.

If the UK (or any other EU coutry) boycotted Chinese products and services then our economies would be wiped out.  Does every country use the Olympics for poitical reasons? Of course they do.  The first time I remeber it turning into a fiasco was the Moscow Olympics.

Rubbish Slart and furthermore we'd all go back to driving quality cars like the Austin Princess, the Ambassador and the legendary Morris Marina.

I'm right!  What would you fill your Pound shops with? They account for about 78% of the UKs GDP.  And would you really like to see the streets full of naked chavs?  And I haven't even got around to the take-away food.

Now I never knew that. No wonder it's always feckin' cold by the time you get it home.

Avoid, rather than check. Check, rather than hurt. Hurt, rather than maim. Maim, rather than kill. For all life is precious, nor can any be replaced.
