| Bill Bastard (06/04/2008) Agree with al the above. Benjani's fluffed pass was particularly frustrating. Elano did a similarly shit one shortly after. They, on the other hand were knocking it around us for fun.
Had a rare sit in the third tier. Gives a real good idea of how differently the teams played. We were actually pushed up a lot more than they were - Terry and Alex sat very deep pretty much the whole match, whereas Dunne and Neds left quite a bit of space behind for long periods. If Anelka hadn't kept straying offside he could have done some real damage.
I don't remember either of their full backs being put under any pressure, which is disappointing.I thought petrov on belleti would of been our best chance to get something out of the game but he never realy got at him, We played better than them for large periods of the game we just lack something in the final 3rd, benjani twice put in poor pass' when we were in a good position as did elano, johnson should of shot a couple of times but never, if we played like we did yesterday against birmingham we would of beat them, which is even more frustrating, If we would of put the efort in against birmingham, reading and other teams we're capable of beating we would be in a european spot now, Sven ran the rioct act well too late and now we're relying on fair play. Which if someone would of said that at christmas I would of laughed

I couldn't help but feel he was talking a little bit of sense, look at previous results and performances, compared with post results and performances. It's encouraging, but not if that makes sense. The season has, despite the way our hopes were lifted, been a good one, and Sven looks to have hit the target Frank set him. Let's push on next year, and remember this is the Super Swede's first year in charge

| | I got a couple of tickets for the game and took my lad - and we got totally outplayed by a very good team - you could see our heads go down once the goal went in I thought Fernandes played very well and Petrov ran his arse off - as for the rest .............

| | I didn't expect to win but thought we played some good football for spells. Petrov looked keen and tried 100%. Dunne had a hand in both their goals (both bad luck for Dunne and city) Anelka looked hungry and motivated. Benjani had a great chance from a free header and pounded it way over. Ireland could have done more with a chance from a Petrov free kick. 0-2 against Chelski isn't the ned of the world. it hsowws how we a still a little lacking in composure and quality. We seem to be in a bit of free-fall in the league, we are looking below us rather than above us at the moment. Hope we don't have to start next week with Sun in defence - he scares me everytime the opposition run at him. Sven seemed to be more bouyant after the Chelski game than he has been in past weeks - we need a clean sheet and a few goals to settle us down and lift the spirits.

Our heads only went down after the second goal, is that what you meant? I also thought Hart, Ned and Johnson (first half until he understsandably tired) had good games. I really enjoyed the first half, some excellent football played by both teams. Match died in the second half though. They are a class above us but that is totally understandable at this stage. |

| I thought we played well. Chelsea are a better team. Once again it was dissapointing not to score a goal. However, if we continue to play like that against other teams, we should come out on top.

| Great to see Petrov doing what he can, taking on players, getting crosses away and shooting. Great stuff Martin.
Unfortunately no change from Elano's form of last 5 or so games. He wasnt bad but...where is the Elano that started the season for us, guns blazing?
