Bit of spin on City's behalf?? We're not like Real Madrid. We won't go to games or buy season tickets on the strength of one (formally) great player. Remember George Weah?

Bit of spin on City's behalf?? I was thinking that East Stand, perhaps not so much in season tickets althouh that's a point, more just trying to raise the global brand a bit. Not a bad tactic so long as we don't over do it. I always laughed when Doug Ellis at the Villa used to do this every year. "Villa to sign entire Brazillian National Squad" or similar headlines down here every time.

As long as we deliver at some point. *imagines delivery* *explodes*

| Ronaldinho's agent insists he is not looking to move the Brazilian playmaker out of Barcelona. Reports have claimed that Ronaldinho's agent and brother Roberto de Assis was at Manchester City's game against Chelsea last weekend. Both Premier League clubs have been linked with a summer bid for the 28-year-old and City boss Sven Goran Eriksson welcomed the possibility of signing the attacker. But De Assis has played down recent visits to England and Italy, after Milan also declared an interest, and says he is not trying to negotiate his brother's summer exit from Barcelona. "My work is connected with the world of football and it is usual for me to travel and talk about personal matters when I think it is necessary," De Assis told Don Balon. "Ronaldinho has a contract until 2010 and I am not looking for anything." Leave on a highThe former Paris Saint Germain star has been ruled out for the next six weeks through injury, but De Assis also quelled suggestions that Ronaldinho has played his last game for Barca. "It's a little early to say that," added De Assis when asked if Ronaldinho had donned a Barca shirt for the final time. "I hope he can be playing again soon. I think a player who has been in the hearts of Barca fans and this group of players deserves to leave on a high. "Decisions need to be taken calmly at the right time, not in the heat of the moment or in difficult times." De Assis also acknowledged that Ronaldinho is currently at a low ebb following a season characterised by injuries and a loss of form. He continued: "Ronaldinho is a little down at present. He has spent five weeks having specific treatment for a problem and now this has happened. "What hurts him most is not being able to help his team-mates at an important time." |
