Sitting by, and in, the pool with a bucks fizz and a couple of G and T's seemed like a great idea this morning. However, a mere 4 hours later and I am already the reddest thing that has ever strode the earth.  I won't be able to sleep tonight from the light my skin is giving off.  I want to scratch soooooooooooooooooooo bad too.  Just bought all the aftersun I could lay my hands on.  Ow ow ow ow ow.

On a better note, I am getting three suits tailored as we speak.  And 2 shirts.  And I bought a cornflower blue tie from Hugo Boss (just to be like Sven).

I would take a picture of my redness, but it could cause death by hilarity.

and what do you think of KL on the whole? It's a massive city isnt it.....basically a HUGE city of apartment blocks. And then a lot of rubber trees on way to airport.

I'd go with not great-it wouldn't rank too highly on my list of best cities.  It reminds me a bit of Delhi-kind of dirty, rather than Singapore. That said, the Petronas Towers are fooking awesome, and the prices everywhere are right...

My hotel is great though.

Yeah I have no desire to go back, although I am yet to ascend the towers. They are HUGE aren't they.

Did you know there is no steel in the superstructure? It is all cement mixed with silica so it's a stronger fix and less brittle than normal cement.

I did not know that, but it is now in my factoid database.  I'm off up there tomorrow, and I shall regale fellow travellers with that.

Superstructure is a great word btw, like supertanker.

Great word, I got another one for you, hidden below.

Now be careful when telling the story, as there is steel in the building but nothing load-bearing. Apparently they didnt have enough steel in KL (or Malay) to complete the building in steel, so they came up with a new method.

Also, both the towers were built by different companies, unbelieveable but true. The company (or government, cant remember) wanted it done in a massive hurry....like 3 years or something stupid, so they got two teams to compete to get completed first, and the winner received bonus. There you go.

Load-bearing.  Quality.

I sometimes refer to a huge log as Load-bearing.

Absolutely fantastic thunderstorm just hitting now.  I'm typing with my right hand only, just in case (though I have to think it'd hit the petronas towers first).  's fooking ace though. I heart storms.
