I bought their first album and was in wonderment, thought it was amazing, played it back to back for months and was well happy with the sound and tunesmanship. Then after a little while I started to realise that the indie/80's meets contemporary sound was a little thin. Well polished but thin.

As a result I lost interest rapid-like. I never bought Sam's Town (especially after hearing the first single) as a result and have a bad taste in my mouth now when I think of them. Has anybody anything to say that may convince me to purchase the album? Are there hot spots I should know about?

I like them, but can't listen to them all the time. I think they're quality, but it's just not the kind of music i could play over and over. I have to leave breaks in between to listen to other stuff, and visit them again when i'm in the mood. For the reason i find Sam's Town to be just as worthy of a place in my cd collection as Hot Fuss. I'd recommend it Danny, you must be able to pick it up pretty cheap now.

I also like the idea that Hot Fuss is a concept album about a gay high school relationship. It makes sense as well, i'll find you the link if you wish. Alternatively if you don't care, i shall leave you alone.

x

Gayness should be encouraged. Link please.

I shall download Sam's Town now. Do they have other albums?

They have a b-sides album called Sawdust as well. It's not bad, but not really the quality of the studio albums.

Well then I shall wait until ST atleast impresses me before I think about this.

Never liked them from day one. Like them even less now.

Yes, all right.. Christ Almighty! It's like walking down a corridor and answering the door in Nazi Germany!

Bland flavour of the moment band with no real substance to their music in my opinion. Inoffensive pop at best.

I hear ya, you two, but I did really like Hot Fuss, maybe I should atleast give ST a try, even if the singles were so bad.
