| I'm off to see them at Vicar Street tonight. I was a bit unsure about their old singer - too operatic - but their new cd is great. Should be progtastic!

| | Great concert. Not a typical metal crowd. Loads of chicks who looked like Death from the Sandman comic. And loads of Finns waving their flags. It was great to see a band pointing their guitars skywards and putting their feet up on the monitors in an unironic way.

Shall investigate...any albums I should be knowing about?Their new album is called Dark Passion Play. It features a new singer who is more a more mainstream rock/ pop singer that the last one who was a trained opera singer. I would recomend a cautious approach as they are not for everyone. They are very pompous and overblown but if you like early Rainbow, Iron Maiden, Magnum etc you may should like them. They are playing Manchester tonight according to the t-shirt I bought.
