| Half Bassman Half Biscuit (03/04/2008) I prefer their later stuff, not keen on all that funk thing at all.Parliment had the Funk, until George Clinton kicked it overboard. July 26th, 1976, The Day The Funk Died. Old Gregg found The Funk, in bed with a Conga Eel

| Disliking the funk is unacceptable behaviour, Shirley. You know the consequences.

| Danny's Studs (03/04/2008)
emigre (03/04/2008) Blood Sugar Sex Magic. One of the best albums of any band ever. Truly immense. Nothing else they've done has really come close. True, Mother's Milk and The Uplift Mofo Party Plan were good efforts, but not as funkily polished as BSSM. It's been all downhill from then.
Yup.
Yup again. BSSM was their landmark moment. Should have knocked it on the head there and then.
Like all their early albums. Freaky Stylee holds a special place in my heart as the first of their albums I properly got into.

'Especially in Michigan' by the Chili's.
Had the tune on repeat about 6 times now. Fruciante's guitar parts are fookin awesome. Bet you didn't need to know that.
Fucking shite tune that Bassman. Generic bullshit.

Ditto The Bastard, except substitute Freaky Stylee for The Uplift Mofo Party Plan.
you know, you know, if a feller named Monroe never fathered bluegrass he would still be unrecognised as the grand wizard of speed metal

| | I thought their early albums were patchy but good fun. The first song I heard was Fight Like a Brave and tbh I wasn't overwhelmed. I was blown away by BSSM and Mothers Milk. Great Live band. Their more recent albums are saner and more mainstream but I still love them. Anyone like One Hot Minute? Now that was weird!
