is quandry the right word?

so... boy x sleeps with boy y's girlfriend, boy y and said girlfriend split up. boy x tells boy y he's sorry and that they were both drunk and he shouldn't be too bothered with it all. boy y says he's not that arsed and wasnt that serious. ten days later boy y and girl are engaged.

baring in mind these are all friends, what should boy x do? he's going for a drink with girl on friday.

a. cancel drink and just think its all a bit weird

b. tell them not to be so fucking stupid

c. let somebody else to tell them not to be so fucking stupid and see what happens

d. fuck him

e. other

boy x really should have boy a around, but boy a is too busy feeling sorry for himself in some far flung place.

Boy y should be a tad pissed off really, as whether or not they were drunk or whatever, boy x and girl have still taken the piss. They broke trust init.

I can't actually remember all the options, but probably let someone else tell them

Avoid, rather than check. Check, rather than hurt. Hurt, rather than maim. Maim, rather than kill. For all life is precious, nor can any be replaced.

Cluster fuck and an all to common scenario.

Mates dont sleep with mate's girlfriends. End of it. Mates shouldnt even sleep with mates ex's, I believe there is an unwritten year long 'hands off' of mates ex-girlfriends, if not longer.

For them to get engaged now is comedy, she's shown she's quite a catch, if you want to forever wonder when exactly she'll start practicing harlotism again...durig the engagement? First 6 months of marriage? 3 years after later?

Depends on how well you know them, if I knew him well enough I'd broach a conversation at timely moment. At least you can feel you tried some, if they wanna do this there is no stopping them, but you wont die wondering what you could have done.

That's a great sentence.  I think I understand it.

Seriously though, it does depend on how strongly they value fidelity. If it's not a big issue for them then I suppose it's no big deal.

If it is, cancel drink and leave it at that. No point in getting involved on their relationship anymore than you have already.

Go for the drink, take an engagement present and shag her again ---twice.

Life is very short and it is every man for himself.

that's what i'd say - fuck it, go for the drink and shag her silly. unless boy y is a meathead who'll pull your arms off.  normally i'd follow danny's lead and say don't go near. I certainly agree on the mates don't shag mate's birds or ex's thing, at least for a decent period of time, but well... you've already broken rule 1, so a repeat doesn't make any difference.
