| Doesn't the fair play spot also depend on other teams around Europe? I remember it was a couple of weeks after our season before our spot a few years back was confiremed due to the Dutch league still playing.

The country with the best record get to put a team forward. The team who gets the place is the one with the cleanest record who has not already qualified for Europe.

Yep, the EPL was top at Christmas (just ahead of Norway), and we're currently the top non-European team (just ahead of Wigan).
UEFA only seem to publish halftime and end of season standings for fair play, so I don't think we'll find out for sure until the end of the season when the final standings are released. Apparently they only count up to the 30th of April, so I guess the final standings should be released sometime in early May.

| | Wow i feel so ignorant after reading this thread. I always thought 5th and 6th were auto UEFA cup places and 7th was pretty much a given due to a top 4 team normally winning a cup. Anyways was just wondering though, is it possible for a team such as Wigan to qualify for UEFA cup if our rating slips and they are the highest placed in the fair play table that haven't already qualified for europe? Given that everything else falls into place.
