Reports in the fine publication that is the Sun that Chelsea will give us SWP in January on a loan, in return for first option on Richards in the summer. What do people think about this deal? Is this anywhere near enough for a player of Richards quality and potential?

Assuming it's not just donkeyballs, then I think at first look this is an incredibly bad deal. SWP on loan is not enough, and I think most people would see the whole deal as damaging, but I think that when it comes down to it, we should be resigned to losing Richards. I don't think losing him is as bad as you might think though, because we've got both Onouha and Trabelsi to come in at RB, and more pressing concers are RM and LB. I think it would be a worthy deal if we could do a straight swap, and try and get a knockdown price for Bridge. I think this, which is fairly feasible, would greatly improve our attack and defence. Would you rather have:

Richards, Sinclair and Thatcher or Trabelsi, SWP and Bridge?

The question is: would Chesea go for the deal? Doubt it, but it's possible. Would Bridge and SWP go for it? Doubt it, but they may. First team football at a well supported and well paid club is very attractive to a bit part player.

Your thought please - I am a raving like a lunatic who's got his finger stuck to his face, or am I just the only one with a dream?

If we give them first option that means he will go, and giving us SWP for the privelage would put Chelsea is a very strong bargaining position. Also, no matter how down to Earth and grounded he is and all that, if he knows he will be leaving then that is going to distract him.

There would be no way Chelsea would have first option, give us SWP for it, and then take up the option.

They can stick it up their arse

That's what we thought when we got rid of Shauny Wright but Crofty wasn't good enough. Trabelsi is going to be doing us a job on the right wing any way

I think losing richards at any point over the next few seasons would disrupte our defence way too much. he is already a natural leader even if dunne is the captain and with the doubt surrounding distin as well we need to keep hold of as many of the defenders as possible

if all we have to give them is first option on Richards if we decide to sell him then i would take the deal.  At the end of the day we don;t have to sell him but if we did he would probably go to Chelsea anyway so it costs us nothing.  I would love to see SWP back

Just tell the chav's to get fucked. As long as Trabelisi stays fit, we don't need SWP.

This is what happens when you 'read' The Sun.

SWP has gone. Micah is the future and isn't going anywhere.

You're not far wrong on this one ESM. Better quallity of delivery from wide areas and starting to look settled. You can tell he is quality.

But what about SWeeP in front of Trabelsi working together in tandem and Richards at C/B or holding midfield?

I gave Elano my Porsche and now I want it back!

At the end of the day, surely the whole SWP's transfer last year is enough to put off any young (yet to fulfil potential) rising star off ever going to warm their arse at Stamford Bridge?

Yes, realistically, they will be quids in, but when you are earning £20,000+ per week, and then just breaking into the England squad, why would anybody want to jeopardise that? Especially at 18 years of age.

I just hope that Micah is well advised, that when the 'special one' comes knocking, which he will, then think long and hard about your decision from a FOOTBALLING point of view.

He's playing great for City, but Maclaren won't pick him to warm the England bench if that's all he will do for Chelski.

I bet SWP would be the first on the blower if the possibilty of Micah moving was on the cards, advising him NOT TO DO IT!!!!!!

He can serve 5 more years for City, then if he feels that the move is right, he'd only be 23 and possibly a regular in the England sqaud.
