Danny's Studs (17/03/2008)
save me Jeebus (17/03/2008) Evening Danny.
Better than I'd gave him credit for. He did give the ball away but not as much as IthoughtI remembered. He worked hard to. Castillo played better than I thought yesterday too. I mean I did say yesterday that I thought he'd played well but I also thought he'd missed some good chances. Now after watching again, I can see that all the chances he had fell on his right foot so, maybe my assessment at the time that he shoulda done better was slightly harsh. As a whole I thought the team started slowly, picked up the pace after we went a goal down, stepped up even more after we scored, and by the end I thought we were playing some fantastic football. Full of running off the ball and willingness to work and cover for each other.
Its so much easier to assess when you're more relaxed about the result.I wish I had that objectivity during a match, it would save me a lot of stomach acid. I would like to again draw your and the MB's attention to Castillo's want to pick up a ball on a wing and run toward the opposite diagonal corner flag. I tell you it hasnt come unstuck yet but more to the point I think he will start to see dividends on this move, as long as he doesnt use it every time and his colleagues know what he is doing. It's not often you see a player who loves running at players and taking it 'across the pitch'. Loves a gallop does our Nerry. He does that. And I'll tell you what, I think ifCastillo carries on in the sameway that he isthen we might just see the nearest thing to SWP at city since he left. He could be that good. There I said it. We better buy him then. Do we have an option? I hope we will buy him, in addition he still young. |

| | Loved the fact we had a bit of tenacity and urgency about us, especially after going a goal down. Too many times i have watched us fall a goal behind and be all nonchalant about it, taking our time, being patient etc...I'm like for fooks sake hurry up, we're LOSING!! Credit to Fernandes (or is it Gelson) and Johnson for picking up the pace and sticking a bloody foot in!! Defensively solid as usual, Nedum looks like he could do with a tidier first touch tho. Nery was looking like a man possessed, tracking back, winning the ball and running 50 yrds. Think he's finally getting te hang of this premiership malarky. Benjani again looked good in the lone striker role. All we can ask is that he holds up the ball and lays it off to the supporting midfielders. Another solid performance by keeping it simple. Similar performance to the Utd game in terms of work rate and oh look, we win again. More of the same please Sven. As Radioactive man would say, "Up and at them!!" Well the Rainier Wolfcastle version anyway

That much. He's worth 4-6 but 9 seems a tad high. Still, he's got the rest of this season and half of next season to show us he's worth that kind of dough.

| I think Elano played a lot better than he has been. It was still a bit subdued, but i think a spell out wide might relieve some of the pressure from him.
Do we class his contributions to the goals as assists? The header to Ireland and the corner stuck beautifully on Ned's head!
If so i think thats a good game, laying on two goals!
