I hope he is right about somone seriously hurting Ronaldo though the cocky winking fuck. Well done Pompey and well done the ref its about time 1 of them had the balls to give a decision against a so called big club.

| I'll take an opposing stance. I watched the game and the referee was nothing other than shite.
Had it been City on the receiving end of the referee's decisions, we would be more than a tad upset. The penalty in the opening minutes was a certain. Nothing more.
What also annoys is that is:
1 Portsmouth
2 'Arry Catcrap
3 Dustbin
The twats.

I will admit that i am to an extent. City v United isn't a question. But when it comes to other teams from other areas of the country, then I am hard pushed. I like to stick more to our own, if you get me. The Scouse may be, what is it 40 miles away, but never!!!
Remember when you were young and were asked what your favourite London club was? Well F that!!!
I just hope that Portsmouth don't win it. To see that crook, Arry Catflap with the FA Cup would make me sick.
Edit:
I'd also like to add from an overseas point of view that I don't get to see too many games. But the referee was shocking. Sucjh games get built up and you epect a better standard of refereeing from the English game. this bloke was a joke.
The commentator also made a point about Wes Brown being the least skilful player in the United side. Least skilful? He was shite. Delaying signing for that lot. What is he on? Drugs? Wes Brown is damn lucky to be there, as he isn't as good as he likes to think that he is and an England player?!?!!

| Bet nothing comes of this though !!Man Utd duo must explain comments | Ferguson and Queiroz were angry after United's 1-0 defeat | The Football Association wants Sir Alex Ferguson and Carlos Queiroz to explain the comments they made after Manchester United's FA Cup defeat by Portsmouth. United boss Ferguson criticised referee Martin Atkinson and referees' chief Keith Hackett after Saturday's loss. Ferguson's assistant Queiroz also spoke out against Atkinson, and the FA has written to the United duo. They have until 19 March to respond. If any action is taken, the pair would face a fine, not a touchline ban. United lost Saturday's FA Cup quarter-final 1-0 but Ferguson felt his side should have had a penalty when Sylvain Distin blocked Cristiano Ronaldo in the first half. | 606: DEBATE |
Ferguson told MUTV: "It's absolutely ridiculous. I cannot explain it. "Managers get sacked because of things like that and he's going to referee a game next week." And he felt Hackett, the general manager of the Professional Game Match Officials Board, should take more responsibility when officials under perform. "Hackett has got a lot to answer for in this country," added the Scot. "He's not doing his job properly. "He should be assessed like everyone else is assessed. I'm assessed as a manager, the players are assessed, referees are assessed. "Martin Atkinson will referee next week, no problem, but his performance today should not be accepted in our game." Queiroz called Atkinson "a disgrace", claiming the referee allowed Pompey to use over-physical tactics against Ronaldo throughout the game. |
Its a shame I missed this though, nothing I enjoy more than people kicking lumps out of the little shite!!

| slart (11/03/2008) Throw the book at them!Looks like it'll be the Labybird Book of Inconsequential Punishments if anything: "If any action is taken, the pair would face a fine, not a touchline ban. "
