| Gelson didn't look like the man we need to me at first, but at the moment I think he is a complete version f Joey Barton. He is also much more sensible.

Slow now

| Interesting comparison that. I like it.
Avoid, rather than check. Check, rather than hurt. Hurt, rather than maim. Maim, rather than kill. For all life is precious, nor can any be replaced. |

| Surely he covers 7 miles plus per game.

Definately . . . he puts 110% into his game and never gives up. The perfect replacement for Barton in my eyes.

| | Flaws in the above argument... 1. Gelson Fernandes is a far more temperamental (that the right word?) player 2. Gelson Fernandes is not likely to: a) start fights with Everton fans b) Stub a cigar out in a youth players eye 3. Gelson Fernandes impresses me 4. Gelson Fernandes is black (I ran out of flaws)

| I have to say I agree. Seemed like a strange signing at first -not quite sure where he fitted in but once Didi retires, we will have a great player ready to take his place for a decade
