Sven's tactical prowess

Sven is great at building a team and at creating a team spirit.

His tactical prowess on the other side is a joke.(compared to other great coaches)

A lot of people know that. Just look at his time as England's team manager.

so don't be surprised if he fails the test.

I'd disagree. You don't get to the level he's been at for the last twenty years without being an exceptional reader of the game.

What other great coaches were you comparing him to?

exactly for the last twenty years. Sven was a revolutionary in terms of tactic 20 years ago but now there are other coaches who are far better, more creative and better in the field of tactics. A whole new generation.... Benitez, Mourinho are the most known. But there are a lot more.

He is still exceptional in creating a great team spirit. But a great tactician ? NO

Bert Trautmanns neck brace (02/03/2008)
He is not an international manager. He is a very successful club  manager. We will be a successful club aided by him.

Easy really when you think before typing.

u should think before typing.

I did not say he is bad club manager. I was saying he is not one of the top tacticians in football anymore.

Count his trophies, count Benitez's count Morinho's count Scolari's whilst you are at it.

Count Avram Grant's!

you do not mess with Jack Reacher

You my friend, are an idiot. Sven has won... without going to check, 18 trophies in his club career. And if I remember right that makes him the 6th most successful european club manager of all time.

Yes, all right.. Christ Almighty! It's like walking down a corridor and answering the door in Nazi Germany!

Oh dear, beer. This isn't going too well for you now is it?

Although great point about benitez being a tactical genius.

I normally like beer but this particular one doesn't sit quite right.

you know, you know, if a feller named Monroe never fathered bluegrass
he would still be unrecognised as the grand wizard of speed metal

Nothing worse than a bad pint. Actually scratch that - a bad curry's worse than a bad pint. Its a shitter when you go for a curry and you're starving and then your food turns up and its a bit.....meh. That's the ultimate in disappointment.

I was cursed by bad pints for about a year though. It became something of a running joke. Even when i got turfed out of hospital after having the appendix out - managed to stagger down to The Oxford to wait for my lift. First pint in five days. Bad pint. Bastards.
