Decent return I thought

Along with Fernandes I would say he was our best player. The two of them and Ireland seemed to link up quite well before Ireland came off, which I thought was quite a strange decision seen as he was playing quite well.

Johnson just oozes class. No matter how frenetic it is in the middle he always seems to have a yard or two of space. Considering he hadn't played for 8 weeks I thought he was excellent. He also looks like he has bulked out a bit. He seemed to have a real presence about him.

Other plusses were Fernandes(again) Castillo and Caicedo who both looked sharp and showed good promise.

What?! Ireland was having a shocker. I was crying out for him to be subbed. He is not a left midfielder, Garrido or Castillo, or even Caicedo should have been playing there from the start. Ireland played well against United, but has had two bad games since. We have enough options on the left to not be putting round pegs in square holes.

Johnno looked real class. Linked well with Gelson. Nuff Sed.

Had to rub my eyes.... I was certain it was Najinksy himself Colin Bell....

Now Colin are you sure you didnt pull a bird in a nightclub in Urmston 20 years ago? are you sure.....

He was superb, his tackling seems to have been improved, his passing was very good and his overall workrate superb, he was head and shoulders the best player....I agree with the comments about Ireland, he was poor and was drifting in too much, if your gonna bring on castillo then play him on the left, the full backs kept offering Ireland the outside and he never took the option, Petrov would have murdered their right back...Even Caicedo would have been better placed on the left....anyhow never mind what do we know?

Cometh the man cometh the wig....

Ireland IMO was outstanding against Man U, and can be a fucking great player on his day. My worry is that he just doesnt give a shit about City or football or a combination of both, and maybe a few weeks in the reserves might make him open his eyes
