Horns of the goat (25/02/2008) he is a playmaker tho, as a postion its very hard and many playmakers are very inconsistant. Just have to look at ronaldinho requilme and kaka, they all have been inconsistant at one time or anotherAgreed. Elano is a footballing genius, he just needs a regular runout. Wigan will be the recipients of our wrath. Our goal difference is about to get better. lol, i like the optimism lets jst forget tonight it never happened, the last time city played was when they beat united 2-1 at Old Traford sealing the double anyone remember? Exactly. Dont believe the hype. Either way. Its somewhere in the middle. About... there. Agreed. I was making a point. The truth is, he might not be a genius but he's far from shit. I know, it was just a general comment, it wasn't aimed at anything you'd said.

| Right,
I just got in from watching the match, I maybe a little beer fuelled! But im not being negative!
[Negatives] It was probably the least creative i have seen us perform all season, Everton seemed to be that one step ahead of our every move. Our first mistake (i feel) was the same formation and tactics as against United. The length between our games made us predictable. After the win against United, we needed a match soon after. I think we had too long to dwell on the great result. We are being over ambitious aiming for Champions League. Everton have a team that is strong throughout, and they bossed us in every position.
[Positives [Hur hur!]) We still have a great chance of qualifying for the UEFA Cup, which is still pretty darn good! Everton were simply too good for us tonight, which will hopefully give us a reality check, making us realise the importance of the UEFA Cup place.
I thought Nery Castillo came on and was possibly our best player... He seemed to hold the ball better than we had done for the 70 minutes previous to his appearance. This brings me on to the subject of work ethic. While Petrov has great determinaton when we are on the "front foot", and his dismissal was harsh to say the least, he seems to have a negative side when we are under pressure. I feel that the next game is a really good chance to test Garrido on the left. Which in my opinion is a positive, as it forces us to make a change.
I think tonight should be treated as a lesson learned, we can get over it, and just proves that we need to odopt the element of surprise that we had in the first half of the season. The players we had on the bench (Elano, Castillo, Corluka) need to be included in the next line-up. Castillo had the only element of surprise in the whole team tonight, Everton didn't know how to pick him up when he came on.
Sorry for the 'dissertation style' essay, and im sorry if i repeated things that have been said previously (I have not got the time to read through all the thread!)
Come on CITY and lets get a great result against Wigan.... I will be in the stands cheering!!

| | I have just returned from the match. We did not deserve to win. We played badly, Everton could have had 2 penalties, their first goal was offside, Petrov should control his frustration,he made little or no contact but showed a lot of intent and so off he went. Castillo shows promise, Caceido is a fat lad and we were City. Beat United away one week and total Kak the next. Twas ever thus . Do not get worked up about it. I sat next to a bloke from Kildare who lived in London and played Aussie rules football. Only at City. Saturday is another day.

Saturday is another day.
Afraid not on the offside. (Replays showed he was well onside.) Otherwise spot on.
