Winners get in, 4th place miss out. According to liverpool and everton fans.

If it were down to me I'd let them both in like they did last time. It's a bit unfair to change the rules on the 4th place team, and it's daft not to let the winners in automatically. When I rule the world things will be better.

Do the winners not get in? I thought they'd implemented a rule to clear up all the fuss that occurred last time?

I'm guessing they perhaps do. But I think they are still antsy about letting 5 clubs in. I had read something about the winners not getting in as a new rule, unfortunately it was in the imagined future of footbubble (interesting read btw).

The was that winners get a place striaght into group stages but max no of English teams would be 4 regardless. This means if we finish 4th, Liverpool finish 6th and win Champ league, they would go into Champs league and we would go into Wafer Cup.

I gave Elano my Porsche and now I want it back!

"If the title-holder comes from an association entitled to more than one
place in the UEFA Champions League and qualifies for the UEFA Cup
through its domestic competitions, the lowest-ranked club of the
association’s UEFA Champions League representatives is automatically
transferred to the UEFA Cup. In this case, the number of places to which
the title-holder's national association is entitled in the UEFA Champions
League and the UEFA Cup does not change."

from UEFA's website. Surely Liverpool aren't going to consign Everton to the UEFA cup? that would be funny......

1st - Champ's
2nd - Champ's
3rd - Champ's
4th - Champ's
5th - UEFA
6th - UEFA
7th - UEFA - IF a team already in 1st - 6th wins the Carling Cup. This means that because you get in Europe for winning the domestic cup so if spurs finish in the top 6 then 7th is available.
8th - UEFA - IF a team already in 1st-7th gets into the FA Cup final. So if Chelsea or United get into the FA Cup final then 8th is up for grabs. If its United v Chelsea final then i think (dont quote me on it) that 9th is also UEFA lol!

I thought losing FA cup finallists got the nod if the other team were in CL...

Carling Cup finalists don't get UEFA spot. FA Cup finalists will if the winner of the Cup finishes top 4 or wins CL.
