In the thread about Dunne and his contract, the word legend keeps appearing.

Who are the real city legends and why are they legendary?

you do not mess with Jack Reacher

Of the modern era Dickov probably qualifies because of that goal. Goater too for passing the 100 goals mark, his popularity, and for being fed by Gary Neville in one of the most memorable derbies.

Before that? You'd be the one to tell us wouldn't you Bert? Doyle should be in there I assume.

Slightly obscure but good call that Bastard.

Maybe he didn't play long enough/at the right level but surely Bernarbia is worth a mention...the thrill of watching him in  the promotion season...not many players have delivered that level of skill for us in recent years. He was a joy to watch.

Dunne definitely qualifies for me though, he's a hero

Cassell is a fantastic shout.

Some sort of special award for Les Chapman I think too.

Very modern day legend - Shaun Wright-Phillips

I was about to suggest that.

he would still be unrecognised as the grand wizard of speed metal
