| Abattoir Blue (13/02/2008) I don't think he's going anywhere. However I wouldn't be surprised if Dunne's agent hasn't leaked this one to build up pressure on City to match Micah's wages.
Player of the year 3 years on the trot (with a possible fourth on the way)...who can argue with his (possible) demands to be the best paid player @ the club?thats the thing - he has been immense for us for years and we should give him whatever he wants. dunne is, in my opinion, the only player in our squad that deserves such reward. when noises were being made about richards wanting 75k (tabloid bollocks or not), my immediate reaction was flog him, not worth that much, not done enough to deserve it. with dunne, if he wanted 100k i'd say give it him. |

| | Dunney doesn't want to leave though. Come on City, pay the man. He's immense and could go down as a city legend, hopefully through some glory years to come. He's already played nearly 300 games for the club, mostly through bad times. if he stayed here for the rest of his career, which i've heard he really wants to, he could end up playing 500 plus games. The vision i have is of Dunney hoisting the FA Cup up in a City shirt. Please City pay him what he's worth, and let the good times roll...
Someone get a message through to Captain Snort That they better start assembling the boys from the fort. And keep Mrs. Honeyman right out of sight, 'Cos there's gonna be riot down in Trumpton Tonight. |

Very true but one of the reasons I heart him so much is because he hasn't gone round making this demand or that demand, threatening to leave etc. He just gets on with his game until the time for contract negotiations comes around and then sorts things out quietly and without fuss. I want City to justly reward him with a proper new contract, but I want it to have come from the club's appreciation of him, not from his agent playing games through the media. That would be the most dignified and my preferred way of doing things.

Maybe some of the older posters on here may not agree with what i'm going to say, but, if Dunney does stay for the rest of his career, plays 5/600 games for the club, the club starts winning trophies and has their finest spell since the late 60's - then Dunney would be revered in the same way as say Mike Doyle. Why not? All City's legends are all from long in the past, why not have some modern day legends?

You'll have no argument from me on that. I think Dunney is destined for immortality at City.

Doubly concurred. Excuse the americanism but he's a future Hall of Famer (and we do have a hall of fame after all). One for our generation...

Hang on lads, this could well be true. After all, they were spot on with their reports about Micah 'becoming frustrated at the impasse over his contract details and looking to leave', so they are obviously in the know about these sorts of things...
You nearly gave me a heart attack in 8 words there Labby. *shakes fist* Why I oughta...
Yes, all right.. Christ Almighty! It's like walking down a corridor and answering the door in Nazi Germany! |
