| Because I can already hear and read ManUre supporters make up excuses as to why they lost, let's compile a list for them shall we?
1. The emotions related to the events that took place 50 years ago were too much to handle
2. The Sun
3. The Referee only giving 3 and half minutes of extra time when it should have really been 90 minutes
4. Rooney was suspended
5. Dieter Hamann should have been sent off for touching Nani and Ronaldo
6. The retro Kit was too heavy and hindered the players
7. The 3000 City fans were way too loud
Any more ideas?

| Ah ok, didn't listen to 5 Live... but according to the BBC it was the "occasion"
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/eng_prem/7223971.stm
But City were disciplined and organised as they kept United, who seemed to get more affected by the occasion after going behind, at bay and shocked them again with a second on the stroke of half time.

Yep, similar to FL, that and Rooney's absence in quick succession - two excuses for the price of one, all from a supposed serious radio presenter who couldn't bring herself to acknowledge that City may, just may, have beaten them on merit. Edit to add that to be fair to some United fans at least, from what I've seen on other forums they have accepted defeat with good grace and are equally derisive of the excuse of 'the emotion of the occasion' for their defeat. It's the media more than the fans who are coming out with this kind of bullshit.

| Im delighted!
But it annoys me how people talk about how United lost it... The attention should be on City and the talk should be how Sven masterminded the result!
I would love to have seen Merson's stupid face at the result... No doubt he will be making a list of excuses as long as the line of coke on his desk.
WELL DONE CITY!!

| According to Carlos Queero it was the midweek internationals that cost them the game. What, and we didn't have people playing in them? Diddums.

The 'big' clubs are the ones most likely to pull their players out of friendly games, yet still bitch the loudest when they lose after an international game, despite usually having the largest squads.
