| Manchester City manager Sven Goran Eriksson has hinted Benjani will lead the club's attack in a lone striking role on his debut against Manchester United. The Zimbabwe international only recently played against The Red Devils for Portsmouth, but is lined up for a swift reunion against the Premier League champions this weekend. Eriksson is pleased with Benjani's capture - after the deal was ratified by the Premier League on Tuesday - and believes his experience will only benefit the club. "I think he will fit in very well, he's played by himself for Portsmouth many times, and I hope he can play on Sunday," he told City's official website. Good record"He's a very good footballer, he's scored 12 goals in the league so far this season which is a good record. "When we had the opportunity to take him, I did not hesitate at all, my reaction was 'yes, let's take him'. "He's 29, he has a lot of experience, he's very strong and is a proven goalscorer. We need that, that's for sure." Hard-workerAlthough Benjani's scoring record has sometimes been criticised at Pompey, Eriksson believes the striker also brings a fantastic work-rate to the City of Manchester Stadium. "He's always been a hard worker," Eriksson added. "I don't know him well yet, but he looks very lively and is always looking around him to see what's going on. "I know people who worked with him at Grasshopper FC in Zurich a few years ago, they said he was a goalscorer and a hard worker even then and it's good if you can have that combination in a player." |

| Sounds about right - Ireland or Geovanni in the support role.

| | In a way he seems to be a Vassell (hard working) but who also can score goals. His record this season is impressive but I hope he can keep it up. what scares me is the fact that the people at Grasshoppers who recommended him to Sven said he was a goalscorer back then. He made 1 goal in 25 games.

Manchester City manager Sven Goran Eriksson has hinted Benjani will lead the club's attack in a lone striking role on his debut against Manchester United. ...." Hmmn. Interestly that Sven would be giving away his formation so soon before the game. Does thing mean he won't actually be playing Benjani as single striker? |

| Seeing the way Sven has ligned up in the majority of games this season and the thumping we got at Chelski, when we tried to play them at football - then I'm 100% confident Sven will either have a 5 man midfield or a 5 man defence. We can't match United at old trafford so playing a 4-4-2 would be suicide.

| it'll be 4-5-1 with Hamman in front of the back four - probably Geo behind Benjani and Ireland on the right
