Greek star backed to make Celtic impact
08:47 February, 4, 2008
Georgios Samaras can revive his career with the Bhoys according to former Hibs boss John Collins

After the on-loan Manchester City striker netted on his debut against Kilmarnock on Sunday, ex-Celtic star Collins said: "You look at a big, tall guy such as Samaras and you think he is going to be fairly static.

"But that's far from the case. He was running right and left and all over the frontline making himself available for passes.

"He showed great movement and from a midfielder's point of view that's what you want. You are always looking for a striker to go wide and take the ball into feet.

"When he got the ball there was only one thing on his mind and that was to drive at the defender.

He showed superb composure as he slid it into the far corner. He is a good signing."

it sounds like the samaras we had when he initially joined and had a bit of a scoring run. then he got injured, and on his return he never played anything like well for us... hope he does well up there.

Did you see the "defending" though?! He placed it very well, but he had all the time in the world. Wait til he has to play Barca in the Champs League - I predict it will get very meze......

Gerogios took the goal well but the defender gifted it to him, how much space did he want?
