I read that FA have powers of special dispensation where required and it could still go through. Can't say I was that excited abouty this one anyway, Yes he's been good this season but last year and year before he only scored a handful of goals. Not quite the Diego Milito, Adriano, Gilardino type striker that I had in mind. Agreed. But he'll still be here when we get a player of that calibre in the summer. If he does sign, his (potential) goals could get us into a position in the league whereby attracting those sorts of players would be easier. Whatever people think of Benjani (I'm not a huge fan myself) but he's definitely a lot better than what we currently have. Sturridge ultimately looks a very good prospect, but if you compare Benji to our senior strikers you'll see how poor we are up front.

Yep gotta agree with you Coods, Benjani would have scored the two gilt edge chances that Vassell missed against Derby and turned a 1-1 into a comfortable 1-3 win.

Yep gotta agree with you Coods, Benjani would have scored the two gilt edge chances that Vassell missed against Derby and turned a 1-1 into a comfortable 1-3 win. we might not even have conceded, we'd have been at least two up and cruising

I think Benjani was a last resort and deep down Sven knows the deal falling through was the best thing.
