| The Premier League are to examine the paperwork over the proposed transfer of Portsmouth's Benjani Mwaruwari to Manchester City. It had been thought the deal was off after City failed to complete the signing of the Zimbabwe international striker on transfer deadline day. City stated that due to the player's late arrival into Manchester on Thursday they did not have enough time to seal the deal. Pompey boss Harry Redknapp was confident of the deal going through following their capture of Spurs' Jermain Defoe. Despite initially appearing as though Benjani would be staying at Fratton Park, it now seems the Premier League could yet allow the deal

| Part of me wants it, part of me doesn't. If it goes through, Danny or Caciedo are gonna be sat on the bench, n with Sturridge "in form" atm, we need to give him a chance

| | Apparently we only sent half the fecking forms Half the forms FFS
Harry Redknapp has hinted Portsmouth are attempting to push through a late deal to sell striker Benjani Mwaruwari to Manchester City.
Reports this morning claim the Premier League are examining the paperwork of the 29-year-old's proposed move from Fratton Park after City missed last night's midnight deadline for completing the transfer.
Pompey boss Redknapp remains in the dark as to why City failed to file all the necessary paperwork on time but revealed chief executive Peter Storrie was in discussions with the Premier League this morning.
Uncertain future: it is unsure whether Benjani will be joining Manchester City in the January transfer window
"Man City sent half the forms off and I'm not sure where it went from there," Redknapp told BBC Radio Five Live.
"I know that Peter Storrie was told that the deal was done. Peter's on the case this morning with the Premier League, seeing where we go with it."
Redknapp admitted failing to sell Benjani would leave Portsmouth out of pocket because they were hoping to recoup some of the reported £7million spent signing Jermain Defoe from Tottenham last night.
"If 'Benj' is back then we'll have to see where we go with that one," Redknapp said.
"He's a good player and we didn't want to lose him. But we just needed to balance the books with him going and Defoe coming."

| | Not sure if I want him or not now. Resigned to having Sturridge and new chap in. I do think Sturridge is a little inexperienced and apparently not match fit yet. I'd rather Pompey didn't have both though - I bet they would make a decent attacking partnership - Can't drag on for too long can it.

| Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp admits he is in the dark regarding Benjani's proposed move to Manchester City. City revealed late last night that they had failed to complete the deal after not finalising the necessary paperwork in time. However the move could still go through as the Premier League have confirmed they will examine the paperwork over his proposed transfer. Redknapp admits he finds it strange as to why City failed to file all the necessary paperwork on time but revealed chief executive Peter Storrie was in discussions with City, the Premier League and The FA about resolving the matter. "Last night at five to twelve everything was done at our end," Redknapp told Sky Sports News. "We were waiting to put the forms through and then Peter [Storrie] got the okay from Man City saying their forms had gone off. Done deal"So once their forms had gone through Peter Storrie obviously faxed through all the relevant stuff to the FA and Premier League and as far as we were concerned it was a done deal. "At 12.30 a message came back saying one or two of the forms from Man City's end has not gone through so I don't know where it is all at the moment. "He [Benjani] is still in Manchester and the two clubs are obviously talking trying to see where we go with it and we are talking to the Premier League and FA. "It is disappointing as Peter Storrie could not do any more. When someone tells you they have sent their forms our forms went off and there was nothing else we could do. "The fact that some forms did not go is very strange. "I can't really get to the bottom of the whole thing at the moment. "We have to wait and see how it pans out. We will have to wait and see what today brings." Fax, FAX, kin hell, I thought it was a multi Million pound Business, and they are still Faxing shit !! Talk about backwards!!
