MANCINI HEADS TO ENGLAND

Inter Milan attacking midfielder Filippo Mancini has joined Manchester City on a six-month loan deal, the Italian club have confirmed.

The 17-year-old, who is the son of Inter coach Roberto Mancini, had a week-long trial with City before accepting the move.

Filippo will now play under Sven-Goran Eriksson, who coached his father at Lazio.

The starlet made his first-team debut for Inter last month in the 3-0 Coppa Italia triumph against Reggina.

Mancini Junior is not the only Inter youngster to move to England in the January transfer window, with striker Goran Slavkovski joining Sheffield United until the end of the season.

SMJ - I thought that too

Perhaps Mancini will be able to orchestrate things in midfield.

I think he's on loan as British clubs cannot sign Italians under the age of 18. Arsenal did a similar thing with Rui Fonte, from Sporting in Portugal. They couldn't sign him on a contract until he was 18, so loaned him until he turned 18.
