| Not sure about Benjani.
Seems to be just an average player playing as best as he can. At around 6mill , I think Sven has weighed up how much it would cost for us to slip down the league and not get euro football , in both money and the extra draw for future transfers. If he bangs a few goals in ,whilst he's still high in confidence , and helps us cement top 6 then I think the signing does its job.
In the summer , we go in for a top class euro striker and Benjani takes the slot of the backup striker , giving us better strength in depth.

| Cooder (31/01/2008) anyone else now think this thread title a little premature?I thought it was from the get go. But it's miggs's little problem and I didn't like to make him feel bad.

Premature? Or just plain spooky. Time will tell.

| | Benjamin 'Benjani' Mwaruwari (born 13 August 1978 in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe), is a footballer currently playing for Manchester City in the Premier League as a striker. He was born to parents of Malawian descent and has chosen to represent Zimbabwe at professional level, the country where he was born and raised. In the Ngonde language, his name should read Mwaluwali but because the Shona language uses 'R' in place of 'L', since 'L' is not part of Shona alphabet, his name now reads Mwaruwari. In Zimbabwe they call him the undertaker for his ability to 'bury' teams. Benjani would score frequently in his playing days in Zimbabwe and ultimately put more goals past teams, hence he was 'burying' them. So. THE UNDERTAKER is with us....... |
