Actually, to listen to Redknapp last night following the Pompey capture of Defoe, he referred to the Zimbabwean as 30 (as against Defoe's 26) as if to suggest he was past his prime and saw him as a big profit deal. In that respect, I'd acknowledge that he would have been a poor buy at £8.5m plus. Remember, we have Vassell, Sturridge, Bojinov is back soon, Calceido has arrived, Castillo will be back in three weeks time and with Petrov and Elano up front we are still able to muster enough firepower to achieve. Nice to see Filippo Mancini at Eastlands. |

| I could rant on about the number of hours in january, or the distance between portsmouth and manchester, or that we have left 1 of our rivals for a european place with 2 proven prem strikers and we are left with none, but whats the point- typical city sums it up.
