That's the attitude Cooder. It's not like Mido has set the league on fire. I haven't seen anyone mourning that failure of that deal either.

have to consider that Benjani was a bit of a panic buy, especially at 8.5mil...

We'll get someone better in the summer. Fuck it. Onwards and upwards blues!

I agree. I'm refusing to be negative whilst we're 6th in the league. Signing Benjani would have been nice and it's a tad annoying that it didn't go through simply due to timing but to me it seems that Caicedo was the player Sven had lined up for a while and Benjani was more of an added bonus.

I'm good aren't I?

Agent: Eriksson swung Caicedo deal for Man City
tribalfootball.com - January 31, 2008

The agent of former FC Basle striker Felipe Caicedo admits the presence of Sven Goran Eriksson helped Manchester City land the Ecuador star.

"This deal was in the making for two months," Saif Rubie revealed. "There were three other teams wanting him but he really wanted to play for Sven. He will settle well. He is ready to get stuck in."

Eriksson first saw Caicedo play when he went to watch Elano play for Brazil against Ecuador.

What a joke, he would have knocked them in for us for sure, instead we have another 'hot prospect.' Sorry for the pessisism, i'm just totally pissed off.

Patience my young friend, patience. As I have said before I refuse to be negative whilst we're 6th in the league.

8.5 mil for benjani? fook that. happy enough not to get the piss taken with panic buys at over inflated prices to be honest. he's knocked a few in this season, but the previous record doesn't inspire confidence that he is a consistent, proven, worthwhile investment.
