Caicedo signs for City
01/02/2008 00:23

Manchester City have confirmed the signing of 19-year-old Ecuadorian international striker Felipe Caicedo from FC Basel.

The powerfully build frontman already has 15 international appearances and two goals under his belt, and previously played at Under 20 and Under 17 level for Los Tricolores. He featured for Ecuador in last year's Copa America after bagging seven goals in his first season in Switzerland following his transfer from Rocafuerte FC.

Twelve league starts this season have seen the young frontman score four goals for the team managed by former Tottenham boss Christian Gross, who are currently top of the table in the Swiss Super League.

Badger-Please note the time of that OS release. I am now proper scared...

BBC are still reporting that the Defoe move is 99% certain and they are just waiting for an announcement. Could be the same with Benjani. The OS might be teasing us.

Fingers still crossed for that. It all seemed so "done". I just thought they'd announce 'em together. Mind, there was no Mancini news either on OS-important or not, it'd get reported.

I'm clutching aren't I?

Beeb just confirmed Caicedo. I want a job there. Look at Sky sports, doss around for a few hours. Then copy and paste from OS.

Go ahead to bed if you're tired. I'm still at the office so I can keep an eye on things for you.

Harsh, he has done a job... More than was expected at the start of the season!

But hopefully more illustrious scorelines are on the horizon!!

suppose it was a bit harsh but the derby game summed it up, 4 chances and no goals, been a premieship striker for 8 years and he's only one a away from his 50th goal    really not good enough.

look like the deals done, pompy have confirmed defoe so ours must be done, wahoo :-)
