Derby County thought they had clinched a loan deal for City's Danny Mills, yet after the player suffered a serious knee injury, the Rams contacted the Blues to see if they would cancel the loan or pay half his wages.

However, both requests were declined.

"I asked Manchester City if they could help with the wages because we have lost Danny now for the season," said Jewell. "His wages are quite high but they wouldn't play ball so we have to pay all his wages.

"At the same time they wouldn't cancel the loan. It's a bit disappointing but I guess that's the way people do business. I guess it's the Premier League, every man for himself.

"Sometimes you get a little disappointed in the way some people do stuff."

I heard this yesterday and thought it was a bit cheeky of him to moan to be hones.  Are we asking Shakthar for 6 weeks of Nery's salary?  He got injured while working for them right?

Mind, I did have a bit of an "evil laugh" about it.

Especially as they 'only' (yeah, I see the ridiculousness of the word in this context!) pay £10k a week of his wage anyway, or so I read.  Cheeky bastards.
