Could be worse imho... not sure if he is worth the money tho. Altho he scored 35 goals in 76 games for AC Milan so far...

Another Italian striker set for Manchester City?
07:37 January, 30, 2008
If you believe reports in Italy, the poor performances of Rolando Bianchi have not put Manchester City Football Club manager Sven Goran Eriksson off Italian strikers.

Eriksson paid £8.8million to Reggina for Bianchi in the summer, yet the Italian international failed to settle in England and has since returned to Serie A in a loan deal with Lazio.

City also had a bad experience with another Italian forward, when Bernardo Corradi arrived at Eastlands during Stuart Pearce's reign in charge only to fail to make an impression in the
Premier League.

However, this hasn't put the Swede off pursuing strikers from
Italy, with reports suggesting one of his top transfer targets is AC Milan's World Cup winning ace Alberto Gilardino.

Whilst it may be too late for the Blues to strike a deal during the current transfer window, the San Siro club are believed to be willing to offload Gilardino in the summer for around £10million.

How the hell are they going to bring a player into the Premier League,
from Italy, in just under two days. I mean, not to be skeptical, but doesn't
this break some sort of Home Office legal paperwork record, that I
am unaware of??

I mean, not that I experienced with a lifetime of fan knowledge about these
kind of things: but if the international sports community works that fast in arranging
visas: pity that all tourists aren't football players!!!

As Italy is part of the EU there is no requirement for work permits or visa's, the Home Office wouldn't get involved.

Still a load of bollocks though.

I agree.  We never do in Jan even though we really need to.
