badly drawn bassman (29/01/2008)
Wagner Love's just turned us down as well.  Bleedin hell, it was easier signing players when we didn't have any money.

Who's to say we have now hmmmmm?

There does seem to be a trend at the moment with regards to our transfer targets, certainly in recent days anyway.

Both City and the clubs involved have remained tight lipped, no talk of agreement or disagreement for fee's etc, Yet both Mr Loverloverman and Fabiano have made it public that they have no desire to join City. So whys that?

I'm really not very happy today. Since Sven took over we have got rid of shit loads of admittedly shite platers, and brought in Petrov, who is ace, Elano, who is good when he can be arsed, and Gelson, who is alright at times. Garrido has completely lost his bottle, and Corluka runs like he's shat himself (although he's alright at footie).

I said at the start of the season I'd be happy with top 10 and a good cup run. Well, the cup runs were pretty poor, and we're 7th on a slippy slope to fuck knows where. We need something to turn our season back round or we're going to be scrapping in the bottom half within a few weeks. There's no sign of anyone putting the ball in the back of the net and that really concerns me. We've seen 45 mins of Sturridge this season, and I refuse the get carried away about him.

Basically, we need some good players please, and a bit more passion for the shirt.

Manchester maybe the fucking darkside, but even I know you don't live on hot pot and black pudding.

There are two ways of prizing a player away from a club.

1,The player WANTS to join you.

2, Chuck money at the job.

IMO the most efficient way of wheeling and dealing is to go for a mixture of the two, that way you tend not to pay over the odds. Good example is Anelka, £15m doesn't sound daft at all. The other way is to just go for it, offer a fee that the club can't refuse, not a good way of doing business but sometimes needs must. IMO, we're at the point where needs must.

What's Geoff Horsfield doing these days?

Someone get a message through to Captain Snort
That they better start assembling the boys from the fort.
And keep Mrs. Honeyman right out of sight,
'Cos there's gonna be riot down in Trumpton Tonight.

A bit harsh there Weege, Corluka is class (does it matter how he runs?), Petrov as you say is class. I have seen stuff from Elano this season that brings a smile to my face, he's brought in Hart and had the bottle to make him his number one. Elano will be more consistent when he gets fully used to the prem, it normally takes foreign players a season to get adjusted. Let's give Garrido a chance, he's only young and will need time to adjust.

I can understand why you are frustrated but think we just need to take a step back and look at what we have achieved and not what we haven't done yet.

It's my nephews turn to go to the game on Saturday, he can't make it as they're going away, so I told Miss ESM she could go. All I got was "What's the point daddy, we're going to get really badly beaten."

Looks like I've a spare junior ST going.

Ok, Corluka is good. I was clutching at straws a bit. Elano sometimes looks like he can't be bothered and that annoys me. Hart was already at the club and knocking on the door so I'll put that down to natural progression.

What exactly have we achieved though? Ok, we've got a good points haul over the whole season so far, but look at our last few games. We've scored 8 goals in 10 games, which isn't UEFA cup form. We've scored 7pts in 7 games in the league. That isn't even decent Championship form. And those 7 games go back to the Spurs game in mid-Dec.

If we don't get a few decent back-to-back wins we're going to be well out of contention for anything, and heading for another mid/lower table finish. This form is "typical" City and is letting our good start seem a distant memory.
