Be great if Wagner Love was another Tony 50p head though wouldn't it?
We could sing "Love is in the air"
Not gonna happen anyway:
Love rejects City approach by Adam Marshall, 29 January 2008
Vagner Love has insisted he will not be joining Manchester City, even though he is aware of interest from England, as he plans to see out his contract with CSKA Moscow. City boss Sven Goran Eriksson is reportedly keen on a triple raid on the Russian side for Brazilian trio Love, Jo Alves and Daniel Carvalho. After the success of signing Elano from Shakhtar Donetsk in Ukraine, Eriksson is looking east again in his search for new talentas City bid to recover their early season form. However, Love has no intention of heading for Eastlands this month. "I really did get an offer from Manchester at the end of the previous season," Love told Sport Express. "However, the CSKA president said this offer was not suitable for me and I stayedat the club. "I like the Russian league, I like my team-mates, the management and our supporters. "I am satisfied with everything in the team and I will surely play there till the end of my contract.
Sounds a bit sinister to me. Kind of like they made him an offer he couldn't refuse.

Poor journalism. Where does it say any interest has been shown by Eriksson (and not Pearce) this season?

| | Manchester City have made an audacious £5m bid for Portsmouth striker Benjani Mwaruwari. (Daily Mail) Pompey's willingness to let Benjani go could depend on whether they manage to sign Real Mallorca's Jonas Gutierrez, who celebrates goals by putting on a Spiderman mask. (Various) Valencia's Miguel Angel Angulo is also a target for City boss Sven-Goran Eriksson as he tries to bolster his attack. (Daily Mail)

| Well it's the final stretch now. I wonder how a manager prepares for an away match while conducting two transfers? Might be the first time I would ever be pleased to see a City manager not at the game.
