| Manchester City and Aston Villa are interested in Real Madrid forward Julio Baptista, the Brazilian who played on loan at Arsenal. (News of the World)

| | It does no harm for players like Julio Baptista, A.Alves, Lucas Podolski, Berbatov and dozens of others too being linked with the club. However, it is totally frustrating to City fans when you realize that there are no funds available to take these deals forward. The facts are that Thaksin is NOT providing Eriksson the necessary funding to strengthen the squad, possibly due to the fact that most of his wealth is inaccessible at present and is likely to be at 23.59 on 31/01/08. Time for us all to smell the coffee this Sunday morning. I'd recommend 2 doppo espresso's to enable you to come to terms with this unpalatable state of affairs. |

We have made a few big offer's for player's, it's just the clubs don't sell in jan. What do you want him to do spend £20m on a striker who he dosen't want just for the sake of it? |

You keep saying this. You want to explain how you know.
The last few days on this forum has highlighted one of the problems of having some small success. You gain a whole lot of new fans who know nothing of the club, don't understand what it really means to be a City fan and demand unrealistic levels of success, bitching when things don't go right.
This si not directed at any one person but a general comment on the posts we've been witnessing in the last few days.
For someone who's supported City for almost 40 years, the fact that we have Elano, Petrov, Castillo et al is incredible and to be joint 4th going in Jan is also unbelievable. Cause for celebration not moaning.
The state of affairs is far from unpallatable. A million miles from it. Chill. It's going well.

No it didn't, and he moaned about the brutality of the English game. No room for gayers at City.

I read he had specific concerns about the weather - "1day of sun and 364 days of rain" was the quote. Moving from London to Manchester isn't going to solve that one r'kid!

| I really hope we do not waste our money on Baptista... he did not impress me at all when he played for Arsenal.
