My thoughts exactly. Given our strike force so far this year, we would have done just as well with Miller up front. Perhaps better. In fact, he's an option given his rich vein of form. He'd give us the height too. We could recall Evans as well.

I don't think us selling Samaras changes much, but the injuries to other strikers does mean we need to bring someone else in IMO. The Podolski rumours are still flying, even though Bayern have said he isn't for sale. Read somewhere today that a £16 million bid might be offered. We've also been linked to that Real Mallorca striker and Whojamaflip Zigic.

Plus the Bianchi rumours seem to have some foundation. An injury to Vass would really put us in the shit.

I'm quietly confident Bianchi will still be with us come the 1st of Feb.

you know, you know, if a feller named Monroe never fathered bluegrass
he would still be unrecognised as the grand wizard of speed metal

I hope so. He's great at finding space in the box and getting on the end of stuff. Sure he misses a few, but he gets in the position and that's more than Vas has been doing recently.

Lets not dismiss the work Vass does. He may not find the back of the net oftem but his hold up play and running off the ball at speed gives the opposition summat to think about. He's also got a good jump on him for a titch.

Don't get me wrong, I like Vas and appreciate the role he does, just not as the lone striker. He's a busy player, fast, pulls defenders out of position, but you need a strong attacking player to take advantage of that. Elano has done on several occasions but Vas is not a great target for Petrov. I wouldn't mind seeing what Miller could do but not sure if we can recall him or not.

Bianchi changed the game on Wed night when he came on. His clever runs and talent for losing his markers makes him our number 1 striker. He just isn't getting a run in the team for some reason. Given a decent run and i think we would start seeing a return for the £8.8m invested in him.

Formally known as Rolando Bianchi's Rolly Poly
