I found this whole thread to be fraught with hilarity.

Agreed Ooh Vay, apart from the ego's bit, and we don't have to play them again this season.

I hate this perception of him being a quitter though. I don't know why he left Newcastle to be honest. But then he left Fulham to manage his country. Hardly being a quitter that is it? Then he quit England, but at least he had the balls to stand up in front of the nation and say he wasn't good enough. Then at City he had already said he was going at the end of his contract - but people seem to forget he had said that the day he took the job as well. At the end he had lost his spark - no doubt about that, and it was right for him to leave.

He's never quit without good reason

That's Keeganesque is that Squidge.

He didn't finish his contract with City either. He left after the Chelsea game in February or something. He quit.

It is, but it's not. Because it was hardly being a quitter, the way he left Fulham. Then he did quit England.

He left City after the Bolton game, but i think he was most probably pushed. At worst it was a decision made between him and Wardle.

And yes to all of you, i do love him. The big hunk of man

The only difference with Fulham is he quit before he was found out. I think he did a top job for us, but facts are facts

Not convinced. They may be the facts - but when you actually look at the reasons then they don't carry quite the same negative connotations that you're post does. As already said i don't know the reasons why he left Newcastle. But leaving one club to manage your country isn't being a quitter. How many managers wouldn't do that? And he left England yes, but at least he had the balls to admit he wasn't good enough. That's the only example i'm aware of of him being a "quitter" in the true negative sense

Right, i'm quitting.  See ya.

Someone get a message through to Captain Snort
That they better start assembling the boys from the fort.
And keep Mrs. Honeyman right out of sight,
'Cos there's gonna be riot down in Trumpton Tonight.

Hows that then?

Other than leaving Fulham for England the reason he quit ALL the other jobs was because he became a gibbering wreak. Remember the picture and interview at his last England game at Wembley? Remember how old he started to look and his body language near then end at City? Similar situation at Newcastle? He said after leaving us that he'd had enough of football and didn't enjoy it anymore, only last year he said he didn't even watch footy anymore.

The man is a nice guy but VERY unstable.

Manchester City

Blues braced for Fazackerley raid

18/ 1/2008

CITY are bracing themselves for an approach from Newcastle United for coach Derek Fazackerley.

Fazackerley worked with newly-installed Toon boss Kevin Keegan at St James' Park previously and followed him to England and then City.

Meanwhile,  deposed keeper Andreas Isaksson is not angry that his fellow Swede Sven-Goran Eriksson has dropped him in favour of Joe Hart and dismissed the notion that the two of them had endured a major fall out.

"It's the manager's decision to drop me, my relation with Sven is OK," Isaksson told sources in his homeland.

"Sven understands that I want to leave the club. Then it's up to the clubs in a future deal. I have to play.

"I'm trying to find a new club, but no-one has been in contact yet."

And The Sun have reported that Nedum Onuoha is attracting the interest of Aston Villa, with Martin O'Neill considering a £6million swoop.
