i can't agree barca. RD has been our best player for the past four years. the man is a rock, i'm not saying he's the perfect defender, but he's pretty fucking close. i love him.

Let's face it, if he asked, the majority of us would let him touch our special places.

Barna Azul (16/01/2008)
I still think he will make way in the future for someone more agile

*Barna ducks behind his desk and wait for the abuse.

Maybe the club is stalling for this reason?

He has been a great player for the club and a great captain, but to win the league or get a CL place in the future (Thaksins 3 year plan), I dont see him being a first choice to do that.

Thats fair enough i have heard a few people say that.  However I do believe that he is good enough to play at the highest level as his performances against teams like Liverpool and Man United have been fantastic.  I think it is recognized through the league now that we have one of the best entre defences in the league

No I agree that he has done well and is a rock the last two seasons, I just have this nagging doubt in the back of my mind. He does get caught out at times and probably should have picked up Lescott on saturday.

His determination is what get people behind him and I would liken him to SP in his forrest heyday. Not the most skilful but real passion.

His distribution is poor though and often a big lump forward, even when not under pressure.

Who doesn't though. In my not so humble opinion, he's been one of the best center backs in the prem for the last 3 or 4 years and I wouldn't swap him for anybody.

and yes Benny. I would let him.

Yes, all right.. Christ Almighty! It's like walking down a corridor and answering the door in Nazi Germany!

Concur. I always puzzled why people sniffed round Distin but not Dunney. And player of the season 3 in a row (including SWPs best season) speaks for itself. It's an americanism, but he's a future hall of famer (and we do have one now).

I concur with your concurrence. Some of his man of the match performances over the last few seasons (and there's been a few) show the art of defending to perfection. They should be used as teaching material for young defenders as this is what you should be striving for. Perfection. I've run out of superlatives to describe dunne's performances over the months. Thats how good he's been. He's surpassed the english language. We need to invent newer and better words to describe him.

After the Liverpool game Henry Winter in the Torygraph pretty much wrote an ode to him. And rightly so.
