Here you go, Bianchi.

Someone get a message through to Captain Snort
That they better start assembling the boys from the fort.
And keep Mrs. Honeyman right out of sight,
'Cos there's gonna be riot down in Trumpton Tonight.

That kind of goalscoring record is similar to Ruud van Horseman, and we saw what a goalscorer he became over here...if we could get him, then splendid, but i doubt it.

So was Mateja Kezman's.

Thing is Afonso Alves has an even better goalscoring record whilst playing for a shitter team, who i presume create less chances. And he's cheaper! Why not go for him instead. Makes more sense to me.

The thing is, we already have a goalscorer - Bianchi.  Scored 18 goals in Serie A last season, for a struggling side, Reggina.  What more do we need.

Have a look on youtube at some of the goals Bianchi scored last season, if he gets the service he can do that for us.

You have to bare in mind that Reggina were only struggling because they were crippled by the points deduction at the start of the season.

All of the goals that Bianchi scored last season were pretty much inside the 6 yard box and he has proven so far that they are the sort of goals he will score for us this season. Problem is, you need crosses coming into the box (ala petrov vs blackburn, first half). Teams are cutting off Petrov's supply and that in turn takes away Bianchi's game.

I still think Bianchi would fare much better with a decent striker upfront with him.

Hence us needing a quality right winger to balance the team out so we don't have to send everything down the left.

Against Everton

We were lacking a right sided Mid/Winger, we are very left sided at the moment and Ned was in good positions, but dint manage to deliver a good cross.

Petrov put enough crosses/corners into the box second half and we didnt win any. One up front is hard to pick out if others dont get into the box to support.

Geovanni?

That's where he played when he was at Barca

I agree 100% that that's what our problem is. I think we could also do with a true ball winner in centre midfield....like Sissoko or Makoun

Agree completely. If all we do is address this in the next couple of weeks we will be okay (not the finished article, but okay).

The reason City isn't going after Alves (anymore) is that his bid for a work permit was rejected last year. He wasn't considered an 'exceptionally skilled artist' or something like that. It either was about him being too old or not having enough national team caps. Can't remember.

Cheers,

We should give Geo a good run on the right wing and see how he fairs, as previously mentioned, our game relies too much on the left, surely he deserves a solid run...
