Norwich have re-signed Manchester City's teenage striker Ched Evans on emergency loan after selling Chris Brown to Preston for a fee in the region of £400,000.

Striker Brown, who joined the Canaries in a £275,000 move from Sunderland last January, played 17 games this term, scoring once in the 2-1 defeat at Burnley in October.

Evans, 19, who made nine appearances for Norwich earlier this season, scoring two goals, has returned to Carrow Road until 26th February, with City able to recall him at any time after 6th February.

The teenager goes straight into the squad to face Barnsley away on Saturday, but can not feature in the FA Cup third round replay at Bury because he was not registered for the original fixture.

Welcoming his return, Norwich boss Glenn Roeder said: "We are delighted to have Ched rejoin us. I am very grateful to Sven Goran Eriksson for his assistance in making this happen."

I think that's good for everyone-more experience for the lad...

Edit: Plus, he gets a bit more of Delia's cooking. Result.

I'm sure Sven said that he wouldn't let Evans go back on loan unless he had another striker lined up...............

I know its another league and all that, but we keep getting rid of Striker who cant score and they go elsewhere and score, now what does that tell us?

I know Ched hasnt played much yet, but I bet Samaras bangs them in for Celtic!!
