| Nashat Akram confirms move in interview Iraqi midfielder Nashat Akram confirmed that he has agreed to move to Manchester City reported to be a 2 and a half-year contract. On MBC’s sports program Sada Al-Malaab, presenter Mustafa Al-Agha asked the question that most Iraqi fans were wanting to ask "I would like to ask Nashat, the first question, why Manchester City" "Its because its Manchester City" he replied. "Nashat, can we say congratulations" asked Al-Agha "You can say congratulations, first thing, congratulations to us and to you, and congratulations to the Arab nation. I don’t only represent myself, or represent Iraq, but also all Arabs." He revealed that he was offered a trial by Manchester City, but turned it down, and said if they wanted to see him, they could see him play for his club. "Thankfully they watched me, and we came to Manchester, and I had a medical, and that went well, and at present I have been training with the team for the past two to three days, and I am very happy." After being presented to the British media on Thursday, Nashat will jet back to Dubai, and tie up loose ends at Al-Ain. |
