Hate to say it but Dabo to Marseilles is sounds unlikely. Other reports suggest they werent exactly frothing at the mouth about him when offered. Still, fingers tightly crossed.

i think this conversation between Mackintosh and Pape Diouf at Marseille is a great indication of how spurious rumours in the press generally are.

lets assume (as bad as them i suppose) that Mackintosh called regarding the following:

1 - Fancy taking Dabo on loan or for minimal money? (probably luke-warm response)

2 - Any change of Cisse on loan in return (although we dont want to buy him)

3 - Anybody else fancy a move to the Prem?

Out of this we get....

1 - Marseille are interested in signing City's out-of-favour midfielder Ousmane Dabo. (Daily Mail)

2 - Sven Goran Eriksson can forget all about Djibril Cisse, 26, after Marseille claim they have rejected a bid from Manchester City for their former Liverpool striker (Mirror) - followed by a denial today

3 - Manchester City have asked Marseille about the availability of the striker Mamadou Niang and the attacking midfielder Samir Nasri (Guardian)

Conclusion? Press have absolutely now idea whats going on and use the "throw enough darts and one will hit" theory

lets put the transfer excitement to bed.....

in the summer....city signed players that no one in the press had ideas about until the day of signing. Sven is the man in which we trust, he has brought in a deluge of young talented players for good prices....I expect he will sign 2 players in addition to castillo but we have no more clue than the press, so lets await what arrives when it does as it will a suprise when it happens that can be guaranteed...

Cometh the man cometh the wig....
