Okay Guys, here is some Interesting news..

Old friendship reason behind Nashat's Man City trial

It seems that the Coach of the Iraqi National Team Egil "Drillo" Olsen's old friendship with former Norway coach and Man City Assistant Tord Grip was the reason why Nashat Akram was handed a trial by Manchester City.

The pair knew each other from when Grip was coach of Norway in the late 80s. The Man City assistant coach rang Olsen, and after they talked, Olsen recommended Nashat Akram.

Olsen told Norway's Dagbladet that if Nashat could adapt to the speed of English football, he believes he could cope with the top level of English football, and even mentioned that he spoke English.

He added that Man City were not the first club to approach him about Nashat.

he looks a bit shit

So I'm not the only one thinking that? Went on his website and looked at some of the video "highlights". Most of them seem to be him twatting it from the centre circle and missing. But, in Sven we trust.

you know, you know, if a feller named Monroe never fathered bluegrass
he would still be unrecognised as the grand wizard of speed metal

Nashat Akram impress Sven-Errikson

Manchester City were last night in advanced negotiations to make Nashat Akram the first Iraqi player to appear in the Premier League. The midfield player, 23, has impressed Sven- Eriksson while on a ten-day trial and is in talks about making a permanent move from Al-Ain, for whom he plays in the United Arab Emirates. He underwent a medical examination yesterday and has been invited to discuss personal terms, But according to Iraqi newspapers Nashat has already signed a two years and a half contract and the club officials will present Nashat to Man City fans and the media on Thursday..

One of his compatriots, the late Youra Eshaya, played for Bristol Rovers in the mid-1950s, but Akram, who recently finished third in the Asian Player of the Year awards, stands to be the first Iraqi to play in a top European league in modern times.

Nashat Akram is tall and uses his physique to play as a tough and hard working midfielder. He is known mostly for his smart playing style. despite being a defensive midfielder Akram scores a lot of goals and is a regular freekick taker.

So I take it that a bid for Bresciano has gone out the window then

not nessecarily, With his club he has also played as a attacking midfielder a few times which turned out to be a great success. Only with the National Team he is a defensive midfielder..

Btw, When Iraq played Australia in the Asian Cup last summer, Nashat Akram outplayed Bresciano 2 times and gived a great assist wich give uss a goal. We won Btw (3-1) Bresciano is 28 while Nashat is only 23.. if you want to cell a player in a couple of years, you need young players.
