| Fulham have announced that Lawrie Sanchez has left the club with immediate effect. Following the club's poor start to the season, the former Northern Ireland manager has been relieved of his duties. The club currently sit 18th in the Premier League and have won just twice in their 17 matches. DisappointingA statement released by the club read: "Following a run of disappointing results the club is languishing in the relegation zone of the Premier League table, and losing its Premiership status is a proposition that simply can not be contemplated at this stage in the club's on-going development. "The club is confident that it will find the right replacement to increase its chances of remaining in the Premiership, which is of vital importance. "The club would like to thank Lawrie for helping the club through a difficult period at the end of last season, and thank him for his service over the last eight months." CollinsRay Lewington and Billy McKinlay have been placed in temporary charge of first-team operations whilst a search for a permanent replacement takes place. Former Fulham midfielder John Collins resigned from his position as manager of Scottish Premeir League side Hibernian on Thursday, and is expected to be among the leading candidates for the Craven Cottage post. |

Fulham have been punching above their weight for years, the PL is driven by money nowadays, and rather than invest, Fulham have sold their best players, couple this with their lack of pulling power in attracting players was always going to make Lawrie's job a tough one. Sacking him seems madness, especially with the transfer window about to open, who the fuck are they going to get to turn it around?

Agreed with the rest of your point - but didn't they spend shit loads in the summer? I'm sure they spent around £40m. Who they spent it on i can't remember, i only remember David Healy. But they would have been right to expect better for that investment really
