The Ghost Of TiDmas Past (20/12/2007)

We now have PACE in the team. Whooooooooooooooooooooop!!!!!!!!!

And players paying to come and play for us?  It's the future...

Compare with Joey Barton who wouldn't even waive his utterly undeserved 'loyalty' bonus, in order to go and play for Newcastle.

Don't know if he's ever played on the wing but he's got bags of pace and good skill so maybe. Personally I'd like him to try 4-4-2 with Castillo/Boji (when fit)and Bianchi.

Bianchi and Castillo would be a good combo I reckon. Having said that I'm a 4-3-3 convert this season. Sven said in an interview that Castillo can play on either flank in which case I'd stick him on the right and have a fully fit Boj up front.

Yup, I think this would be the best bet.

Is that actually true? Did he pay Shaktar the fee himself?

He paid three mil, we paid the remaining 500k. Good lad!

I heard he paid 2, we paid 1.5. Either way it's impressive.

Edit: No option to buy clause is a shame.

£3.5 mil for a year's loan is extortionate.

It is, though to be fair to Shaktar, they just paid £12M for him, and will be after clawing some back.

I wonder what his signing on fee was and how that relates to what he has stumped up to come to us?  If the two are fairly similar, it seems like a reasonable gesture to me.

8 mil for Elano? I don't think Shaktar know the meaning of 'great business'.
