I think we need to give all our new signings a season before we make judgements. If you look at teams like Utd who buy foreigners in, it often takes them a season or so to bed in and get used to the style and pace of the prem. We can't really criticise too much as we're sat at the right end of the table at xmas, and compared to last season we're looking amazing. It all needs putting into perspective.

I think pre-season most people on here were saying a top 10 finish would make them happy this season, and the players we have can achieve that for us. A few additions in Jan and we'll be fine.

Noddy.  Showing his burnished nuts on the forum since his last post.

Garrido's still a kid.  Been in the country what, three or four months.  He's done very well the majority of the season, give or take a few dodgy moments.  Those dodgy moments were either positional or hesitation as far as I've seen, and that's stuff that can coached out of him.

Ball's a decent player too, so I don't think we've any need for another left back at the club.

Also why the downer on Petrov?  Another who's still settling and he's got four goals and a few assists.  You don't help a player to settle by putting him on the bench, especially when we don't have a decent alternative.

We do now!

Though I wouldn't want to see Petrov dropped either. When he's good he's veh veh good. Garrido would possibly benefit from a spell out of the limelight, however. Can't do any harm to give Ball a little run and has the added bonus of keeping him happy.

We are talking about a 22 yr old player who has had to adjust to life in the premiership and in england. For me he has a fantastic quick thinking football brain and a sweet left foot, he is more attack minded than a pure defender....i like that.

Too often, we lose sight of lifes simple pleasures. Remember, when someone annoys you it takes 42 muscles in your face to frown, BUT, it only takes 4 muscles to extend your arm and bitch-slap that mother....pass it on.

Yes thats true but in that settling in period he's making a lot of mistakes and costing us goals. I,d drop him for ball get garrido to the gym to toughen him up a bit and get one of the defensive coaches to get a grip of him to try and iron out all theses errors he keeps making. Balls a better defender and gives us much needed experience at the back.

bring back SWP!

Garido doesn`t look very bad but he goes too much forward , most of the goals in our net came from his zone when he is forward and missing. In the Chelsea game almost all of the goals came from that kind of situation. He always was forward. I wonder why Sven didn`t tell him to stay back o_O ? . Ball looks like better option to me . And for the guy who said that Petrov should be on the bench i can say only thank god you are not a coach of our team, you want to put our most creative guy on the bench . yeah that`s right not elano is the most creative guy , just watch some match , Elano creates something good from around 10 situations and Petrov does the same from 2-4 situations , he plays rarely with the ball but when the ball is in him he is doing something sharp.

I think we should give Ball a run at LB, and maybe give Garrido a go on the left flank.
