Apparently Danny Tiatto could be in trouble over an alleged racist comment (though it wasn't related to colour, it seems...). I'm surprised Duberry says he won't make a complaint if it was all that serious, though.

The Football Association have confirmed they will be contacting Stoke captain Michael Duberry after he accused Leicester's Danny Tiatto of racially abusing Senegalese midfielder Salif Diao.

Duberry claims Tiatto made the comments when the Australian defender and Diao, currently on loan at Stoke from Liverpool, clashed early on in Tuesday night's Coca-Cola Championship game at the Walkers Stadium.

But the FA have now revealed match referee Graham Laws made no reference to the incident in his match report - meaning no further action can be taken unless an official complaint is lodged by the club or players concerned.

FA spokesman Mark Hooper said: "Anyone with information in such incidents should bring them to our attention so that any appropriate disciplinary action can be taken."

Senegal international Diao declined to talk after the game and neither former Stoke player Tiatto nor Leicester officials were unavailable for comment.

The incident comes just days after all English clubs took part in the ongoing campaign to kick racism out of football.

Duberry, who admitted he does not intend to make a formal complaint to the FA, told the Stoke Sentinel: "I'm not sure if the ref heard it himself but a lot of players did. And he (Tiatto) knows what he said. He should be disgusted with himself.

"He should have been sent off for the comment. We are trying to stamp out that sort of thing.

"I'm willing to speak out because we all wear the badge to kick it out.

"It wasn't a black or white remark, there was no mention of colour, but it's still racism.

"There's no point wearing those T-shirts if this sort of thing happens."

This is not the first time 33-year-old Tiatto has been at the centre of controversy.

The Australian international has been sent off seven times in English football and came under fierce criticism during his Manchester City career from then manager Kevin Keegan for his lack of discipline.

The news follows UEFA's announcement they have rejected an appeal from Wisla Krakow's Nikola Mijailovic against the ban he received for racially abusing Blackburn striker Benni McCarthy in their UEFA Cup game against Rovers on October 19.

Keeper of the heretic's fork of doom.

I like Danny Tiatto and I hope it isn't true.

If fans behave in that way not only are they thrown out of the ground but they are heavily fined and banned from going to football matches for years. The same should happen to players.

I liked Tiatto for his work rate but I wouldn't be surprised if this was true unfortunately.

Avoid, rather than check. Check, rather than hurt. Hurt, rather than maim. Maim, rather than kill. For all life is precious, nor can any be replaced.

If this is true the book should be thrown at danny. racism should not be tolerated anywhere, nevermind football. And Duberry should have words said to him as well. Saying that he's done something but not having the conviction to follow it through reeks of dog piss. collusion is just as bad as the crime.

Indeed. At work on tuesday i was talking to a lad and he said "look at you wearing a chain, think your lloyd banks" (a rapper). When i replied "i am" he said "well why aren't you a c**n". I was taken aback by it and said that's a bit racist...to which he replied yeah...aren't you proud to be English? So obviously i said yes but i'm not racist...and he said i'd gone down in his estimations! Some people are just bizarre
