I was gonna do that myself, but they wouldn't let me pick:

Throbbing Gristle - What a Day

Max Romeo & The Upsetters - I chase the devil

Sabres of Paradise - Wilmot

The Cramps - Garbageman

Jeff Buckley - Hallelujah

Pink Fairies - The Snake

etc, etc, etc. You have to pick from a list, what's the point, it's supposed to be your choice, so i couldn't be arsed with it. It wouldn't really have been my list would it.

I know what you mean about it being your list so you should be able to pick whatever you want but if they let people choose stuff like your list thats not to everyones taste, then people would be turning off in droves and I don't think thats good for business!

Well, if people are happy with that then. I wasn't. I would demand to play exactly what i wanted, or not at all.

Dont be so jealous.

I don't think so.

I went onto the site months ago and was going to do the very same, until i realised that i couldn't actually play exactly what i wanted, so at that point i decided completely against it.

You have to pick like so many songs from one list, then some from another - they are basically telling you what to play, but giving you a kind of choice.  I can see a lot of people going for it anyway, but not me.

you know, you know, if a feller named Monroe never fathered bluegrass
he would still be unrecognised as the grand wizard of speed metal

With music, i don't compromise.

I don't usually listen to Xfm, in fact I do my very best to avoid it, but I'll tune in tomorrow lbm.

Are we allowed to heckle?

To be honest overall i've been disappointed with XFM.  When they arrived i was expecting all kinds of alternative stuff, but what you tend to get is the expected Coldplay, Arctic Monkeys, The View etc etc.  which is fine, but a bit monotonous.

You know what Bassman?  I actually concur.  the playlist is so fucking narrow that if you have it on for a few hours you'll hear "When You Were Young" at least twice, and all the other crap that you mentioned above.  It's as tedious as listening to Key 103.

It does have the best DJ on radio in Eddie Temple Morris on a friday night, but he's xfm London so he doesn't really count.

well he counts for us as well, coz its a national broadcast of his show, but xfm Manchester don't get any kudos for it.  because they're twats.

Fair enough.  Is XFM manchester a completely different station then?
