Well, where to even start talking about this game??

Did Lampard mean it?

Did Marquez mean it?

Did Carvalho mean it?

How the fuck did no one get sent off?

Utterly classless game of football (yet strangely interspersed with moments of quality when they all forgot about fouling, diving, etc) but great entertainment nonetheless.  Tyldesley commentary still makes me want to throw things, though...

Didn't see it as i was working, although my dad tells me Lamps did mean it. Seeing as Lamp is my favourite player outside of City i'm inclined to believe him!

As for Tyldsley (sp?)...it sees to me that he is always looking for the line that will go down in history. He doesn't seem to go for cliches...more like he wants to create a line that will be remembered as a "they think it's all over" kind of moment.

If you listen though all ITV commentators sound the same. I think it's Steve Wilson who sounds identical to him

As you say SB, not a classic, plenty of cheating, but cracking to watch all the same. I don't like Chelsea because of what they've become and the long term damage teams of the ilk could do to the game, still, was pleased when they equalised.

Wouldn't admit things like that myself. Personally think Lampost is way, WAY, WAY overrated.

I'd go so far as to say he is one of my most hated players.  That's why I asked what others thought of his goal, my cynicism towards the smarmy one probably stops me forming an impartial opinion on such matters!

Didn't see his goal but by any chance did it take a deflection? As per usual.

It was from a tight angle, virtually on the dead ball line, went in off the far post. Fantasic goal, IF he meant it.

It was the sort of game that could put me off football for life. Two teams with great players with the ability to show how the game could be played and what did they do? Spent 80 of the 90 minutes diving, cheating, acting, trying to get each other sent off, anything as long as they win. I turned it off in disgust after 20 minutes. If this is the Champions League, then I hope City never get there.

One of the camera angles suggested it may have just nicked off a defender, but if it did it was very subtle (though maybe enough to send the ball inside the post?? ).  The people who say it was a fantastic goal by the greatest player that ever lived will no doubt fail to mention the spectacular miscontrol of the ball that led him to have to shoot/cross from that position in the first place - even I would have been ashamed of it
